Ice Skating in SC?

Go figure, I move to the South and I end up skating more here that I did back home.

It all started when Isabelle got signed up for skating lessons. One of the boys in her class was going to go so this worked out nicely. She got to learn something else and we got to share some of the driving. The skating is at the Pavilion. I've mentioned it before. The good news is that they have ice year round so I'll be headed there in July when things get really warm here.

Isabelle has come a long way in three weeks. It helps that we have been to several public skates with her. I took some video last week and this week. I think you can even see the difference one week makes. The first week of lessons was literally learn how to fall and learn how to get up. Lately they've been doing all sorts of neat things. Isabelle likes making circles. Her feet go out and in as she shuffles along. It helps with balance and getting comfortable with moving along. She's quite good. Have a look and see for yourself.

The first video is of a few weeks ago after just two lessons.

These are from last week. Another few lessons and she'll be doing pirouettes! Note the "big finish" on some of her "routines". She gets that from gymnastics.
